when was the last time you Welcomed rage?

For most (especially women!), rage is an emotion we dance away from, not into. And it’s not usually associated with its perceived opposite: rest. Which is exactly why we’ve created this daylong, punk + playful retreat into rage—and rest.

Explore clinically-supported expressions of ire through physical movement—dance! shouting! breaking things!—then sink, softly, into regenerative rest.

rage is vital. rest is power.

an invitation to feel it all.

In 2025, the world offers so much to fear, to despair, to rage against—and there’s so much we can’t control. Women, specifically, are tasked with holding it all together without falling apart. But how do we engage with our urgent and necessary anger?

This is the question posed by Soraya Chemaly in Rage Becomes Her: the Power of Women’s Anger, and it’s the anchor of this daylong retreat for women 21+. Together, we’ll dive into clinically-supported expressions of the emotions we’ve been taught to suppress: rage, fear, despair. Through creative and physical practice, we alchemize these into power, into knowing, into resistant and beautiful rest.

On Saturday, November 8 (a few days off the anniversary of the 2024 election), sink into RAGE

  • explore what needs air

  • shout it out

  • thrash it through

  • break shit

& release into REST

  • make shit (beautiful shit!)

  • flow, slowly

  • rest in community, in care.

You’re invited. To welcome ALL legitimate parts of your human experience. To surrender to discomfort; to intimate, vital expression. To seek solace in warm community, find joy in imperfection, expand your wild whole soul.

after 10/11, early bird pricing becomes “on-time bird” pricing: $210. It’s an investment, financially and emotionally. If you feel called in, listen to that call. If you need support, we’re always here to discuss questions, concerns, and Taylor Frankie Paul as The Bachelorette.

Look, we’re asking you to sink into uncomfortable emotions, to allow yourself anger and grief, fear and discomfort. AND we want you to leave feeling nurtured and connected—to yourself, each other, and the experience of being wholly human on planet earth.

All attendees receive lunch (+ snacks and beverages all day!), as well as a ‘swag bag’ of items to support a longterm, nourishing relationship to both rage and rest.

Note: this is a PHONE-FREE event. We’ll ask that you leave your phones at the door (and will provide a number/landline for emergency calls.)

Still have questions?

We’ve got answers! Check the FAQ section below or email us for anything you wish to discuss

FAQs

  • Screens take us out of the present moment and can make us (or others) feel on display. In order to preserve the intimacy of our time together, we ask phones be left behind.

of note: some people just don't feel able to release their device(s). If that's you, send us a note and we'll see how we can navigate together. If emergency reachability is your concern, we'll publish a landline number in advance of the event. Please share with your partner, babysitter, or whomever may need it.

  • I want very much to make this retreat accessible to all who crave it. Current pricing reflects my costs: for the facility and food, onsite support, fair pay for facilitators and clinical advisors, materials, and more. That said, subsidized AND scholarship pricing is available. Please send an email to anna@pidgepost.com!

  • We sure will! When you sign up, we'll ask for any needs, restrictions, adjustments, etc. Please let us know how we can make RAGE/REsiSTance comfortable for you.

  • I’d love an excuse to partner with The Village Project North Bend (the local organization I send my own children to) for this event! Please indicate if you need/want childcare during signup. If enough do, I’ll work to coordinate care.

  • If you have them, please bring your yoga mat and a water bottle. We'll provide journals and pens, but if you have your own well-loved journal, please bring that too!

We'll send a more comprehensive list as the event approaches

  • RAGE::REsiSTance is a space for radical, whole-self experience and love. We’ll laugh together, sweat together, make a lot of noise, and—probably—cry. This retreat, created in partnership with a certified psychologist (MS, LMFT, SUDP), seeks to thoughtfully open us to our “shadow” selves, allowing the emotions women are taught to suppress, as a path toward deeper rest and care.

We are not engaging in these acts as commercial, superficial self-care. Our work is based in the science of Positive Psychology (see: UC Berkley's Greater Good Science Center) as well as creative and spiritual traditions centered around sustainable wellbeing. Beyond nourishing you at the retreat, we hope to provide small, simple tools to support the everyday.

Some resources we love, if you want to dive in:

    • Rage Becomes Her | Activist-writer Soraya Chemaly’s book exploring female rage

    • The Idler | Tom Hodgkinson's punk-inspired magazine and academy dedicated to fun, freedom and fulfillment

    • The Nap Ministry | Artist and activist Tricia Hersey's work on rest as resistance (including her book, Rest is Resistance!)

    • Daily Rest Studio | Emmie Rae, yoga instructor and rest advocate, offers gentle ways for doing hard things

  • Let's chat about it! Send an email to anna@pidgepost.com and we'll figure something out :)

  • Nope! We'll have all sorts of non-alc beverages available, but this is a dry event.

  • Yay! We're happy you're thinking about this! Send an email to anna@pidgepost.com and we'll be sure to answer them!
