WE BEGAN as

a curated card subscription service that matched the perfect, independently-made card to any event in your calendar.

We launched in March 2020 and were profiled by theSkimm that same month, before we had any of our sh*t together. We were flooded with orders and learned a lot, fast.

Turned out, we’d built a beautiful and unique space for analog connection in a time people really needed it. Our subscribers wrote cards of celebration and support, shared dreams and grief and fear and hope.

As IRL relationships suffered and digital “connection” soared, we got curious about the science behind handwritten communication.

we became experts

first in the value of handwritten cards, then handwriting in general, then human relationships, then human experience. This sounds reductive and of course it is; it’s impossible to be an expert in the human experience.

But we’ve dived deep. Into positive psychology and sociology, history, biology, theology, natural sciences. Into art, poetry, activism, philosophy, sustainability, and social impact.

All our (ongoing!) study led to an understanding that our lives are best enjoyed within a connected ecosystem. We must nurture our relationships to ourselves, others, and to the planet.

we went “corporate”

As we sent curated cards to subscribers and studied human flourishing, we were approached by companies who wanted to more meaningfully support and celebrate their employees.

This lined up well with our desire to meet people where they already are. Creating warm and inclusive workplaces alongside thoughtful leaders? Through cards?? It was an easy yes.

Since 2022, we’ve collaborated with forward-thinking organizations to support high-impact connection and culture work, including:

  • Manager recognition

  • Peer-to-peer recognition

  • Milestone celebration

  • Sales differentiation

  • Client + partner appreciation

  • Social/emotional balance + wellbeing (we call it “human sustainability”)

In 2024, we accomplished a lot. I (Anna, 👋!) birthed the Pidge Post Studio to host IRL workshops, retreats, art installations, and formal corporate partnerships. I laughed, cried, and connected with many people over many events centered on outcomes-free creative play. I held my first festival—a sold-out, daylong celebration of rest in the Cascade foothills. I published 30 essays about slow connection to a growing audience.

The year clarified and honed Pidge Post’s go-forward strategy:
connection is the why.
slowness is the how.

I have no illusions that we’ve “figured it out.” There’s always change, learning, and adjustment ahead. But here’s what you can expect in the short-term:

  • Academic study on the impact of handwritten notes (in partnership with Bucknell University)

  • More collaboration with smart, thoughtful companies

  • More unplugged retreats, off-sites, and interactive art installs

  • More writing

  • and of course: more cards.

we slowed down

Let’s talk.
