  • Letters to the Dead

Gather at Carnation Farms for an exploration into death and loss. Warm, open conversation and practice leads to letter-writing, connecting us to both the beloved dead and the dead-to-you.

Saturday, Oct 25 | time tba
    Carnation Farms, Carnation

  • RAGE is RESISTANCE

(Basically) one year after the election, dive into a daylong experience and processing of rage. Full-bodied, full-hearted release through shouting, dancing, breaking shit, making shit. Of course, some writing. This one melds mindfulness with punk rock. It’s gonna be rad.

    Saturday, Nov 8, 2025 | 10am - 4pm
    Carnation Farms, Carnation

Past projects:

  • Community Mailbox Experiment

Picture a mailbox on a busy sidewalk, loaded with blank cards, pre-addressed envelopes, and a request: write me a letter. This interactive public installation proved warm, intimate, deep, and expansive. More than 100 letters came in, and continue to do so.

This experiment ran Jan - Jul 2025, with a secondary exhibit, Letters from Friends (May-Jul 2025), showcasing the letters’ vulnerable, hopeful, wise collective.

  • Drop-in writing community

These free, drop-in workshops are space to practice and share writing in a no-frills, no-pressure environment.

This program is currently on pause.

Write-in: first Mondays, 10-11:30am, Huxdotter North Bend

Feedback circle: third Thursdays, 10:30-12pm, North Bend Library

  • Rest Fest: 2024

A day-long rest retreat in the Cascade foothills, a chance slow down and pay attention to the world around and inside you. We moved gently in nature, reflected and dreamed, communed, created. All without judgement or goals of achievement.
